Headers and Footers

This sample application demonstrates how to add and remove items from the header and footers sections of a grid and groups. It specifically demonstrates how to:

• Create implicit styles that target DataCell and FilterCell
• Create DataTemplates that are used as the cell-content templates for various columns (see CellContentTemplate property)
• Make the grid read-only (see ReadOnly property)
• Prevent columns from being automatically created (see AutoCreateColumns property)
• Prevent the default headers and footers from being added to the grid (see UseDefaultHeadersFooters property)
• Add a GroupByControl and a FilterRow to the fixed header section (see FixedHeaders property)
• Add a custom control and a notification control  (see NotificationControl class) to the fixed footer section (see FixedFooters property)

  • Providing a new style for a column's cell editor (see CellEditorStyle property)
  • Defining which cell-editor type is to be used to edit the cells in a columns (see CellEditorType property)
  • Handling the ActivatingCellEditor event to bind a column's cell editor to its data source (see ComboBoxCellEditor class)
